Burgoyne Forest West HOA – Community Update (January 2026)

Dear Burgoyne Forest West Homeowners,

We hope you are doing well. We are writing to share an important update about the current state of our HOA and to ask for your input on how our community should move forward.

At present, the Association is being maintained by a very small number of volunteers, without a fully functioning board. This makes it increasingly difficult to manage finances, maintenance, safety issues, and required administrative responsibilities in a sustainable and compliant way.

As a community, we are at a decision point. There are two possible paths forward:

  1. Continue as a self-managed HOA, which requires additional homeowners to actively volunteer time and take on operational responsibilities, or
  2. Engage a professional property management company to handle day-to-day management and administrative duties on behalf of the Association.

A professional management company typically provides services such as:

  • Collection of dues, accounting, and budgeting
  • Coordinating maintenance and contractor services
  • Enforcing community rules and managing architectural reviews
  • Preparing meeting notices, minutes, and reports
  • Providing compliance and legal coordination
  • Offering online payment options and improved communication tools

Engaging a management company would likely result in an increase in quarterly dues of approximately $30–$45 per home, with possible additional costs for large projects or emergency services. Many communities find that the added stability, responsiveness, and reduced burden on volunteers make this a worthwhile tradeoff.

Important clarification:

A preference to remain self-managed is dependent on sufficient homeowner participation. If the community expresses a preference for self-management but an adequate number of volunteers do not step forward to meet required operational responsibilities, the Association may still need to proceed with professional management to ensure continuity, safety, and compliance.

To help us determine the most viable path forward, please complete the brief survey by February 1, 2026.

If we do not receive sufficient responses by the deadline, the Association will proceed based on the information available and its obligation to maintain required operations.

Thank you for your time and for being part of our community.

— Burgoyne Forest West HOA
